Personal Investments • Re: Which fund for Roth IRA at Fidelity?

I’m considering IVV (ishares S&P), ITOT (ishares Total Market) or FNILX (Fidelity large cap zero expense fund).

Are ETFs preferable to mutual funds in a Roth IRA?
I'd use a total market fund, but that's me. It really depends on what else you have in your portfolio.

If you can buy ETFs based on a dollar amount instead of buying individual whole shares, then using an ETF is fine. Otherwise, I'd use a mutual fund so you can invest every dollar.

Regards,
From the standpoint of taxes, are capital gains distributions from mutual funds an issue in a Roth IRA?
