Personal Investments • How to find when a bond became worthless?

I received a letter from my broker stating that they are removing the bond from Alpha Natural Resources [cusip 020ESC190] from my account. There is no Transfer Agent for this securities; so the letter serves as proof of ownership.

I assume it is now worthless. How can I find out when it became worthless and claim a capital loss?
