In summary, stock is an insignificant portion of your portfolio. Why would you worry that you buy high? Thanks again KlangFool. I came into non-real estate and investing in general fairly late. I chose Total Stock for my HSA because I had read repeatedly it was a good option for HSAs as I plan to use it for a long term investment and not continuously draw from it for expenses. Asset Allocation below:What is your overall Asset Allocation? If it is not 100% stock, why would you buy stock now? You would buy whatever is low in your asset allocation.Thank you for your feedback KlangFool. I think I'm not fully understanding your questions. Only my HSA is in total stock: FSKAX Fidelity Total Market Index Fund. You believe this is an unwise choice at my age(47)?A) Unless you are 100% stock, why would you buy the stock at current high market? You would buy whatever is low in your asset allocation.
Thanks for the response. Perhaps I am misinterpreting Bernstein's statement. From The Investor's Manifesto: " A 25 year old is who is actively saving for retirement should get down on his knees and pray for a decades long brutal bear market so that he can accumulate stocks cheaply." I am 47, not 25, but to me the statement seemed to be an implication.
B) If you are 100% stock, why would 100% stock makes sense for you at 47 years old?

Thanks.
