I was with Vanguard forever, and over the years there have been various screw ups, such as losing my IRA account once and then accusing me of lying about it. I'm a glutton for punishment. The $100 departure fee for account transfers that was starting on July 1 finally got me to pull the plug to beat the deadline -- I'd been teetering on the fence quite a while. But they still found a way to nick me for the $100, even though I initiated the asset transfer before July 1. A T-bill was maturing at that time and got left behind. Of course, Vanguard fumbled the ball and didn't sweep that amount into the originating account transfer, so an additional transfer request had to be submitted after July 1 due to V's goof and they charged me $100 for that. Called "customer service" to discuss and was told it would be "reviewed" and I'd be "contacted." Vanguard -- I'm still waiting... Just another finger in the eye to remind me why I wanted out. Wasn't sure about transferring out after all these years, but now a do a little happy dance every day. ![:-D]( "Very Happy")
