On Monday, the rep (while on the phone with my wife, my mother-in-law, and me), manually processed the sale of the desired amount from the treasury money market fund and initiated the ACH transfer to the linked bank account. That ACH transfer was completed today (or maybe last night), as the money showed up in the linked back account this morning.Random Poster,(The money arrived in the account today, with a sale and transfer date of Monday).
Now I’m confused, is it working now as a result of the rep’s actions?
I’ll note, though, that when the rep first tried to do so, he also got the same error message, and had to put us on hold and talk to someone to complete the transaction and to get instructions on how to do so. While we were on hold, he also allegedly issued a work order to get the problem fixed.
Selling and transferring anything from Vanguard to the linked bank account via the “transact” link and “send money to a bank” is still not possible for us to do online, as the error message still shows up.
It might be possible to sell and send the money to the settlement fund, and then send that money from the settlement fund to the linked bank account, online, but that method hasn’t yet been tried for the reasons noted upthread.
