It's been a long time since I made my original post. In the end I wound up taking the 3% match at NWM as it was getting to be a lot of work to convince everyone that it was possible to contribute elsewhere.
But now that I have several years of contributions and matches building at NWM, I'm now looking again at transferring these funds on some periodic basis elsewhere. Given the above, is it the case that I could do this yearly or quarterly to a traditional IRA at Vanguard? I have a Roth IRA there already, but I think I'd have to handle this transfer into its own account?
