The semi-annual and annual reports will show the level of realized capital gains. I don't know what is the most recent report, but you should look and it is a good practice to get in the habit of reading them.

As grabiner has already pointed out, in a taxable account, capital gains distributions are a disadvantage to you because they result in tax obligations. You would prefer that the share value grow without large distributions.
