Personal Investments • Re: I want to invest $300,000 for a regular income

I am considering selling my house and investing the proceeds in hopes of getting a regular income of some kind. I think it goes without saying I want this to be fairly safe, tho I know I need growth as well. Currently, I am renting out two rooms just to keep my head above water. Unfortunately, it does not cover maintenance issues that are starting to pile up on the house. Without that income which is around $1400 total, I have an extremely low Social Security that comes in each month. I am looking for options. Any thoughts?
There's really nothing safe that's going to pay much. A 10 year Treasury will give you about $12,000 per year in income, with no danger to the principal.

If you sell your house, you will have to rent. Have you looked at what your monthly expenses are and would be if you had to rent?
