For what''s it is worth, I just did a rollover on Wednesday that exceeded the 25k limit listed on the transfer forms that they said needed a Medallion guarantee. Which is not a problem because my main bank would do that for me. Not all the banks I use will do Medallion guarantee.
Prior to submitting all the forms I contacted the company that the money was leaving from and asked them a few questions, including about the need for the Medallion. The person told me that they were still using Pandemic rules and anything under 250k did not need a Medallion and I could ignore what was on the form.
I would call them to find out for sure if you really need a Medallion.
