Personal Investments • Re: question about brokerage account (tax efficient investments)

Can someone give me some links on what kind of investments a mid 50 year old should make in a brokerage account? I know that I should reduce the risk level of my portfolio, but I get the impression that it is better to hold bonds in my retirement accounts. Right now my brokerage account is as follows:

25% VMFXX - need to invest this
30% VOO
7% VWO
14% VXUS
24% QQQ

I plan to get rid of VWO and put that money into VXUS. I don't need the money in this brokerage account for the next 10 years since I have another account to handle the funds for those expenses. In my retirement accounts, I am investing in VTIAX, VTSAX, and VBTLX.
Have you seen the tax efficient fund placement wiki page?

It's loaded with tips on which account types should hold which asset classes. Consider thinking of the portfolio as one entity, instead of a collection of accounts that each need their own distinct asset allocation.

You can also see the wiki for a more general discussion on asset allocation and the ability, willingness and need to take risk.

Regards,
