I think I am beginning to get it...If I put 10,000 for example in B31 for Roth conversion I would get back $728 tax refund based on my $4491 witholding. Is this correct?
If you withheld $4,491, and now you have $10,000 of income created by your Roth conversion, and that reduces you refund to $728, that means you are paying

$4,491 - $728 = $3,763 tax on $10,000. Seems high to me.
Fortunately, that's not what is happening. If you can use Excel and want to follow along, see OP's dropbox link and the personal finance toolbox.
If I'm paying $3,763 that is the tax I am paying on all my income, not just the $10,000-Correct?
