Modern data centers for large / important data sets like this aren't in one place. They mirror the data across geographically diverse data centers and have internal checks to validate what data set is correct if there is a glitch. I would assume OP was part of some group of clients that had a hiccup in the data and it was resolved.I’m going to assume that FINRA / SEC / other agencies already imposes mountains of regulations on data recoverability. It is scary to think though that modern civilization could implode if the books were lost.
