By not having a reasonable asset allocation you are pushing it too hard when you do not need to.
You are about five years from when you want to retire so for comparison the Vanguard 2030 target date fund is about 61% stock.

With a few dips stocks have been in a historic bull market since the lows after the 2008 financial crisis which is atypical but it has likely skewed your perception of the market risks.
