Great point! This all might be moot. But if not, I second todd's suggestion to file a 5329 and move the excess contribution to 2024.I strongly doubt that you over-contributed to IRAs in 2023, because most (all?) custodians track how much you have already contributed FOR each year and then block you from over-controbuting. Some of the contributions you made IN 2023 were undoubtedly made FOR 2022 (ie, before April 15, 2023).Thank you for the insights! I will try to go into more detail
I am using SoFi for my Roth IRA and traditional IRA accounts
in year 2023 I contributed $5,416.6 into my Roth IRA Account
in year 2023 I contributed $3,693.41 into my Traditional IRA Account.
If you can confirm this by looking at your cumulative contribution settings (likely hidden behind your portfolio holdings in your settings) for how much you contributed FOR 2022 and FOR 2023, or ask the custodian, it is likely there isn't an over-contribution anywhere.
